Film Genre Research- A Quiet Place
In the opening credits we are given the name of the film. The film starts with jumping to the surroundings of where the characters are. The town looks abandoned and from the shot of the missing posters viewers can infer that something bad has happened. There is not a lot of atmospheric sound, it is mostly the sound of the wind leaves flying and papers moving. There is a sequence of low angle shots of a child walk quietly in a store. There then is an over the shoulder shot following a boy to his family. The first two minutes creates suspense because the viewers do not know what is happening in the film but the characters do.
