In my partner and mines audience engaging research we learn that movies in our genre use billboard to market their film and that they have social media accounts where they have trailers, merchandise for sale, and updates about things related to the film. Many films including Hell Fest, Final Girls, and It released their trailers onto youtube. Their trailers were also on TV during shows are movies with the same target audience.
For our marketing plan my partner and I are having ads on TV, billboards, and on social media. Our target audience is from 16-24 years old. We will buy ads spots during TV shows and movies that have the same target audience that our film has. Most of my partner and mines target audience can drive meaning that they could drive past one of our billboards. The majority of social media users are in our target audience. This will be and effect way to advertise for our film. We also can use the hashtag #theunknown to get social media users to help spread awareness of our film.
I learned from my digital distribution research that films will be released into movie theaters for 90 days after that the film is released on DVD, Blu-Ray, and onto streaming platforms. Streaming platforms allow for more people to watch a film. With streaming platforms viewers can watch movies on phones, tablets, TVs, and laptops.
My partner and I are going to release our film into theaters for the tradition 90 days. Then our film is going to be available on DVD, Blu-ray, and on streaming services. We are using streaming services because our film is targeted to teenagers and young adults and they spend most of their free time on their phones. Most streaming services have apps that can be downloaded onto our target audiences' phones allowing viewers to not only be able to watch our film on tv but also on their phone.
